Sometimes our way of being connected in our family is to suffer like those that came before us. When, for example, there has been a painful event in one generation, someone in a later generation will attempt to carry its weight, taking on the suffering of a parent, a grandparent, sibling, aunt or uncle. Illness, depression, anxiety, addictions, aloneness, and more can all be forms of this unspoken family loyalty. Family Constellations allow us to break these patterns so that we can live healthier, happier lives. In a moment of insight, a new life course can be set in motion. Come on out and experience this profound work, and begin to re-claim your life! The TrainingLevel 3 of a 5 part series. The issue, and often the solution, is revealed within the first moments of interaction. By exploring our clients’ verbal and somatic language, the core essence of our client’s issue can be brought to light. Using this approach, unconscious loyalties and systemic identifications are quickly exposed. In this training, facilitators will learn how to uncover trauma in the system by exploring their client’s words, fears, symptoms and body language. Facilitators will learn how to extract a Core Sentence from their client’s list of complaints, and develop it into a constructive inner image. In this way, a client’s deepest issues can surface within minutes and be transformed into a healing resource. We’ll learn how to identify family dynamics that contribute to the development of physical and psychopathology, as well as how to work with patients with specific illnesses. On Saturday and Sunday, there is an open workshop from 10 to 5 p.m., followed by a closed session for trainees only from 5 to 7 p.m. These two hours will be used to break down and discuss dynamics observed throughout the workshop. The program format for Monday and Tuesday will consist of didactic and experiential opportunities to deepen the student’s clinical knowledge of the systemic forces behind family entanglements. By participating in group exercises and by doing personal work, students will experience firsthand the effects and benefits of working in this valuable model.
